FAQs
Should I get tattooed if I’m on antibiotics?
It is not recommended too get tattooed while on antibiotics. Tattooing can compromise your immune system and increase the risk of complications with healing more then one thing at a time.
Can I get tattooed while pregnant? Or breastfeeding?
Though the probability of complications are low, the possibility of harming the fetus/baby are not worth the risk. I will not tattoo you if you are knowingly pregnant or breastfeeding.
Can you tattoo over scars?
Yes absolutely. I typically recommend waiting 6 months to a year for the scar to settle as much as possible.
Can I sign for my child to get tattooed?
No person under age 18 can get a tattoo, even with parental consent.
What do I need to do to prepare for my tattoo?
Get a good nights rest, eat a good meal, drink plenty of water, and don’t drink alcohol the night before. I find some deep breathing meditation beforehand helps me get focused for a long session, if you’re into that kind of thing. Sugary snacks can sometimes get you through the home stretch of a long session.
I have a water bubbler if you’d like to bring a water bottle to refill, and there’s a 7/11 right next door in case you need a snack.
You’ll need an up to date photo ID to do paperwork the day of your appointment. Drivers license or passport, cannot be a temporary version.
What kind of clothing should I wear?
I recommend wearing clothes that make the area I’m tattooing as accessible as possible. I can provide drape sheets and pasties for more private areas.
Stenciling and tattooing can be messy. I do my very best to not drip, but it happens. I would recommend wearing clothes you are not attached to keeping pristine, or are at the very least black. Ink and stencil imprints stain and cannot be washed out.
Shoes that slip on and off are comfortable for long sessions on the table. Feel free to bring a book, small blanket, headphones, fidget toys, or snacks.
What are your hours?
I work Thursday through Monday. I start my days at noon but am flexible if you are traveling from far away and need a later start time.
Can I do a walk in?
I am typically working on larger scale projects and book out about a month at a time. You can always DM me and see if I have time for something small that day, I am happy to accommodate! Just ask.
What is your minimum?
$200
How do I pay?
I accept cash, cash app and Venmo.
How much do you charge?
I charge $180 an hour. I try to post how long a piece took me on my Instagram posts so people can get a feel for what a tattoo by me might cost. If you have a specific budget in mind, please don’t hesitate to tell me I am happy to work with you. Please see my pricing page for more info.
What is your deposit policy?
I take a non-refundable $100 via Venmo. This holds the spot in my calendar and goes towards the final cost of the tattoo. No showing will result in forfeiture of your deposit. If you need to reschedule please give me at least 48 hours notice so I can try to fill the spot. If you are more then 30 minutes late your appointment will need to be rescheduled and your deposit will be forfeited. If you habitually reschedule, I may not be able to continue working with you as I depend on you being reliable. I understand life happens and tattoos are a luxury, but I unfortunately cannot afford to not work.
Can I book a consultation?
I typically consult completely via DMs. I may ask for a photo of the area of your body we are working on, and then I might send back a super lose sketch just to get an idea for size and price. I am happy to answer any questions you might have there.
The main reason I may need you to come in is for larger scale work. Full sleeves, and backs need measurements taken.
Often people will book a pre-drawn piece from me, then mention their next idea during that session. Thus saving themselves a trip.
What is “freehand tattooing”?
Freehand tattooing is when an artist draws the design directly onto the client, instead of using a stencil. There are times where this is the best option, I do this often with cover ups or when a design wraps too much to be stenciled.
I start with a light color and show you a general shape/size and get your approval. Then I gradually use darker colors until the final version is the darkest. Many of my reels include this “before” so you can see the process.
Can I bring a friend?
Absolutely! I know meeting a stranger from the internet in a private space can be intimidating. Just make sure they bring a calming presence to your appointment. My studio has plenty of room/seating and they are welcome to come and go if they want to walk around town while they wait.
What do I do if I’m concerned about how my tattoo is healing?
Reach out to me with any concerns you may have. Usually there’s a simple solution and I’m here to help. You can also read my aftercare page where I describe in more detail my experience with healing.
